7 Tips For Finding New Clients

Looking for new clients while trying to get a new company off the ground or while working to expand a company that is already up and running can seem impossible at times, but remember there are people out there looking for you as well! Sometimes all you really need to do is jump out of your comfort zone to reach out and find those people. Here are a few ideas to help you find some new clients and get your business going or keep it alive.

  1. Make a plan. Think of who would benefit from using your business. Be sure you can satisfy their wants and needs. Remember that the people you are reaching out to may be using a product or service like yours so be ready to answer questions or concerns they may have.
  2. Put yourself out there. You can’t always rely on word-of-mouth. List your ads in the places where the people you want to attract are going to be. Be sure you’re advertising in the same places as your competitors. When new customers call, be sure to ask them how they found you, so you know which ads are most effective and which aren’t.

  1. Check out the competition. Look at what’s working for your competitors. Monitor where they advertise. Follow their reviews to see what their customers are saying about them. Improve your business by learning from the downfalls of your competitors.

  1. Sponsor. A great way to get your company in front of people is to be a sponsor. Contact organizers of events and offer to give away your product/service or offer your product/service as a prize in exchange for having the event promote your company. Find a local sports team looking for a sponsor. Get your name on their jerseys or on a banner they bring to every game.

  1. Attend Events. Find events you can attend in order to market yourself. Look in newspapers and online to find organizations doing events or conferences. Don’t be afraid to go up and talk to your competitors to get ideas on how they stay successful.

  1. Personal Network. On top of talking to people who are in the industry, don’t forget about your friends. Have your friends spread the word about your company to their friends and colleagues.

  1. Ask for feedback. Once someone uses your product or service ask them about their experience. Don’t be afraid to reach out to hear their opinions. If they didn’t choose your product or service find out why. You can’t satisfy everyone, but showing you’re interested in their needs could help your company grow.
