Creating A Wedding Day Transportation Schedule

Creating an active wedding day transportation can feel like an overwhelming task. Here are four questions to ask yourself on how to build your logistics schedule for the big day effectively.

1. What is the Time between Point A to Point B and C?

Thanks to today's navigational technology, we can calculate almost to the second how long it will take you and your party to get from one destination to the next. This feature becomes incredibly handy as you plan out the schedule of your day. Ask yourself, where will the pick-up and drop-off location be?

2. Should I Add Traffic to Your Commute Time?

Depending on the route your transportation service will take, you should consider what the chances might be of a traffic accident or detour on that day at that time.

3. How Many People Do I Need to Transport?

Have you ever gone on a trip with a car full of people with garment bags, cosmetic bags for make-up touch-ups, after-wedding, reception shoes, phones, chargers, water bottles, etc.? You get the idea. Not to mention, someone will forget something in their hotel room and have to go back, putting the schedule behind. It's much quicker to throw one person into a car then 5, then 10, then 20.

4. How long will it take to Unload and Unpack?

Anything can happen. You might get stopped in the lobby from a long-distance cousin checking in early, or the elevators might be working slowly, or you might have a lot of things to unload from the limo, and it's taking a while to find a bellhop with a cart for assistance.

All of these things add time to your day and stretch out the time it'll take to get from Point A to Point B.

TO SUMMARIZE:

  • Take the amount of time that it takes to go from Point A to Point B and C.
  • Then add to that 10-20 minutes per trip for loading, unloading, traffic, and one or more lost groomsmen or bridesmaid.
